International Women’s Day 🌸
Intl Women’s Day was this past Saturday and reminded me to honor… me.
I’m proud of myself. I’m a business owner, a mom, a sister, a daughter, a friend and a good listener. I try new things. I try my best. I fall and get back up again. I’m a forever student, always studying and learning and geeking out on what I love. I’m curious, strong, creative, a lover, sensitive, resourceful, innovative, honest, resilient and so much more.
I’m making my ancestors proud and breaking toxic cycles that have been carried down for generations and generations. These cycles were survival tactics, birthed without the knowledge and resources I have access to today. The women before me did the best they could with what they had. I am everything I am because they were too.
Again; I am everything I am because they were too.
As a woman, I could not have lived this life any previous lifetime. I am my grandmother’s dreams actualized. What a blessing.
Photo of the week: In honor of International Women’s Day, here’s one of my favorite photos of my grandmother (my mom’s mom), Juanita. I love her outfit and smile in this picture. I wonder who she was looking at and who took this photo.
StarBody Report
The Star Report is now the StarBody Report, titled after my StarBody treatment where I use your personal astrology to customize a bodywork service specific to your needs. I often relate how to navigate the astrology of the week via the body in these reports. My intention is to do so more often.
There’s a full moon lunar eclipse is Virgo this Thursday evening, shortly before the clock strikes 12 and we enter Friday morning.
Typically, during a full moon, I’d encourage you to review what has come full circle and what needs to be released before we begin a new cycle. This time, considering the eclipse, I’m encouraging you to rest. The sun is in Pisces and the moon will be in Virgo. Because Virgo is the sign of care and service, I want you to direct that energy towards yourself on Thursday.
Because the sun is in Pisces, I want you to lean on your spiritual practices. Use your innate inner knowing to express yourself in collaboration with the universe. In other words, do something that lights you up as a form of self care. Something that you don’t have to think about, but rather, flows out of you.
Here are some meditative embodiment practices and some practical, easy, inexpensive rituals (my favorite kind) to honor yourself and this full moon lunar eclipse in Virgo. Remember- this one is all about taking care of you:
🖊️ Journal. How do you take care of others? How can you apply those exact practices to taking care of yourself? When can you apply these practices? Schedule your “me time” in your calendar if necessary. A Virgo full moon supports structure, order and organization of wellness routines.
🎨 Get creative. Pisces is the sign of the arts. Sing, dance, create in the name of self care.
🌳 Embody earth energy. Virgo is an earth sign so grounding activities in nature will be extra impactful this week. Take a walk or just lay on a blanket and day dream in true Pisces season fashion.
🤲🏾 Adorn your altar. If you don’t have an altar, you can easily create one. Dedicate a space in your home to photos of loved ones, meaningful trinkets, candles and since the full moon is in the earth sign of Virgo, elements from outdoors (e.g. stones, soil, plants).
🩻 Eat well. Virgo rules the digestive system so what you eat this week will make a big impact on how you feel. Take care of yourself by avoiding foods that don’t serve you. Get plenty of fiber and stay hydrated.
