Me + Astrology: A Love Story โฅ๏ธ
Once upon a time, Pierce, my now 11 y/o, was obsessed with the solar system. In true kid fashion he found something he loved and held on tight. He would say โPlanets!โ and we knew it was time to throw on the regular rotation of YouTube videos.
Slowly but surely I started to become fascinated by the things I would hear. Gas giants, dwarf planets, the sun is how big?! Fascinating! There was more to these videos than catchy jingles and colorful animation, there was real life facts about the solar system that I found sooo interesting.
Fast forward a few years later- itโs now 2020 and weโre quarantined. As a massage therapist I wasnโt able to work which made me reevaluate my job, my life, my purpose ๐ตโ๐ซ (I imagine I wasnโt the only one to do some self reflecting during that time). Would I be able to work as a massage therapist again some day? When? My clients! I missed them and they missed me. What were their self-care routines looking like without massage? What were other ways I could continue my relationship with them? Maybe virtually?
I found my answer while listening to a podcast as one often does. I listened to an astrologer speak about astrology in a way Iโd never heard before. She spoke about how it can be used as a tool for wellness, the system thatโs used to read a birth chart and astrologyโs relation to the solar system. My prior use of astrology was purely for entertainment purposes. I didnโt know that each zodiac sign correlates with a planet and each planet influences our experience here on Earth. With my new found knowledge of the solar system, this intrigued me deeply.
After much consideration, I signed up for astrology school (yes, thereโs such a thing). As I began learning how to interpret my birth chart, all of the nuances and dualities within me started to make sense. The road of self discovery astrology led me down (and continues to lead me down) was so empowering, invigorating and eye opening. Thereโs a sense of permission to be yourself and a type of self reflection that only astrology can facilitate. I knew I had to bring this tool to my clients and the rest is history!
Photo of the week: Iโve always loved a rainbow! Ever since elementary school when I walked into the principalโs office and saw her collection of rainbow tchotchkes. Idk which came first- my love of rainbows or my obsession with color in general. ๐ค๐
Star Report
Venus is in Aries and officially went retrograde on Saturday but what does this means exactly?
The planet Venus rules love, money, values and receptivity. Whichever sign Venus is in, determines how she expresses herself and how she influences what she rules. Because Venus has been in the fire sign of Aries, for the last month, weโve been working with a great deal of passion and action oriented energy when it comes to love, what we value and how weโre able to receive in relationships and beyond.
Because Venus is now retrograde, things will slow down a bit or move backwards so to speak. There will be a call to rethink what was done when we quite literally ran into the fire (โฆsign of Aries). Did we move too quickly? What do we actually value? Are our relationships aligned with our highest selves? And when Venus continues on into Pisces at the end of March, what then?
Then we continue to reflect and reconsider how our spiritual practices and intuition play a part in what materializes for us, as well as how they help us determine what matters most.
